We are here ahead of the team to meet ministry partners, shop, etc.

Last night a severe thunderstorm rolled in at 11:50pm.  We heard strange noises.  It sounded like someone was pounding on the door, or side of the building.  I should mention this building is all metal.

Upon inspection we saw the thunderstorm.  The thunder and lightning and strong winds were evident as we looked out.  But it didn’t explain the sporadic noises.  It was scary.

After a bit, we realized the building was still around 93 degrees from the heat of the day, and the storm was cooling it quickly, which caused the metal to contract.

As we watched the storm, we thought about the night the tornado went through last December.  It tore up buildings and everything in its path and knocked out power.  for 10 or more hours, people had no lights to see what had taken place.  We started grasping in a small way how horrible that night was.  We also thought that the storm we were witnessing might have been stirring memories and emotions from 8 months ago.  This experience has helped have a better understanding.  I pray I can relate this to the teams we will be leading in the next 2 weeks.
